Pronunciation

[edit]

Any guesses about how Vance intended a string of vowels like that to be pronounced? Iowan? Ioon? One-oh-un?

From the Wizards of the Coast FAQ, it is pronounced "EYE-oon" 216.116.87.110 21:49, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Really from Vance ?

[edit]

Anybody know when Vance wrote the one story where he deals with IOUN stones? AFAIK, Rhialto the Marvelous was first published in 1983, years after the stones were a D&D staple, and I can't get publication histories for the stories in that collection. --Svartalf (talk) 01:36, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
