"Even his name inspired a vague dread" seems misplaced: after all, at this point in the story, no one would have known the killer's name. - Jmabel | Talk 18:56, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

This just dawned on me: the man did not get a chance to tell us whether he would like his name spelled with an "î" or an "â". Since he never spelled his name with an "â", we must not presume that he would have. When we were learning the letter "â" back in the 1980s, they used to tell us that it is "only present in român, România & related, as well as in the names of people like Agârbiceanu and Brâncuşi, as names are generally not subject to changes". Let's adapt the guideline in reverse. Dahn 13:04, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am Romanian and I don't want to get you bored with spelling rules. I just want to say that you should use "Rîmaru", not "Râmaru" because even if spelling rules in Romanian have changed from time to time, names (proper nouns) rarely do. Calusarul (talk) 18:40, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Names aren't subject to linguistic changes use the "î" character please. Szekely janos (talk) 21:49, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possible sabotage of content

[edit]

Be advised the first victim's name that Ramaru's father allegedly killed coincides with the name of the current and somewhat disliked minister of turism: Elena Udrea. Please have a source cited there... Szekely janos (talk) 21:49, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please, add the mugshot, here is the link - Ion Rimaru. I tried, but there is something wrong with my web browser. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.23.54.166 (talk) 13:30, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quote: "Ion Rîmaru (or, in newer spelling, Râmaru"

[edit]

This is a nonsense. Names have nothing to do with spelling rules. Your name is the one that is recorded in the official documents. If it's recorded as rtqwe, then, well, your name is rtqwe, regardless of any spelling rule. In fact, linguists cannot change names. It requires the decision of a judge to do that.Srelu (talk) 09:37, 16 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Connection with 1944 murders

[edit]

How could the "man's height of 174 cm and his shoe size of 42 attracted attention"? That is improbable. Surely the police must have been looking for a connection with the 1944 murders, and suspected the father. The bare statement that his height and shoe size attracted attention makes no sense.Royalcourtier (talk) 06:14, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
