Disambig of Inverness article

[edit]

I note the article on Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland was redirected from Inverness to Inverness (city). I have redirected this to its correct disambiguation point of Inverness, Highland in accordance with guidelines.

However I am not remotely happy with this redirect and think it requires a great deal more justification. The Inverness, Highland article is the settlement most associated with the label and despite the edit summary, I don't think there is any vagueness at all in that. --Breadandcheese (talk) 15:32, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look at Nairn. Laurel Bush (talk) 15:33, 15 February 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Breadandcheese, for your information, that format is not in accordance with guidelines. The formulation of guidelines for Scottish settlements (you should pay a visit and add your voice) are still under discussion. I have added a request at WP:ANI for Laurel's unilateral move to be reversed pending an optional WP:RM. Regards, Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 16:00, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, I must've been mistaken. I will take a look. As regards Nairn, I'm not entirely sure I agree with that. Either way, 'Nairnshire' is far less used than 'Inverness-shire' and, significantly in both cases, the county is named after the settlement. --Breadandcheese (talk) 17:23, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
