Planned Expansion of Article
[edit]Introductory paragraph providing context/explaining why this is an important subject in PR.
Paragraphs explaining how individual species (mongoose, iguana, etc) were introduced to the island, and their effects on the environment. Katherine.Holt (talk) 14:08, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
Peer Reviewing
[edit]The current plan here on the Talk Page for the improvement of this article is brief but solid. All Wikipedia articles need that introductory paragraph at the beginning which briefly explains what the article is about. After that I think the idea to put in sections based on the different invasive species of Puerto Rico is a good one. I think the most important thing to remember for an article like this is that because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, we must be careful not to be biased one way or another or try to persuade the reader one way or the other. Those who work on this article should be careful that they do not argue or try to convince readers that invasive species are bad, but instead they should focus on presenting the facts about the invasive species in an unbiased way. Let the facts speak for themselves, and let the readers decide for themselves how they feel about the topic.
So far, what is written down in the article appears to be written grammatically correct, and I think it is in the correct Wikipedia format. I don't know much personally about invasive species, so I can't really think of any ideas for additional coverage. I think it was smart to separate the categories based on the type of animal, such as mammals and reptiles. However, I think the different sections should be kept uniform in title so that it looks better. Right now there are two sections, one with "Mammals" and the other with "Invasive reptiles". We know the article is about invasive species already, so there is no point in writing "Invasive reptiles" as opposed to just "Reptiles", especially because it doesn't say "Invasive Mammals".
