This article contained an outlandish claim without any references: that a Wood Frog can hibernate in glaciers for more than 100,000 years.

To my knowledge, Bristlecone pines are the oldest living organisms, and a revived Pleistocene wood frog would have gained a lot of media attention.

So I removed the wood frog claim because - IMO - it is bogus.

First Ark to Alpha Centauri by A. Ahad

Article needs to include the first human colony ark to New Earth, an as yet undiscovered planet of Alpha Centauri B depicted in A. Ahad's famous novel series First Ark to Alpha Centauri (2005):

Cryopreservation

Who says that cryopreservation works for human beings; the cryopreservation article states otherwise. I'm removing this claim.Srkmet92 00:07, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

fiction references

I removed a line from the Hitchhiker's Guide section. It said that Douglas Adams proposed a TV special involving the ark with Ringo Starr playing a part, but the show was never produced. It had a 'citation needed' dating from 2007 and seemed to be non-essential, so I removed it. Nerfer (talk) 21:54, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

I re-added the section after it was removed by Harizotoh9. The section should use some cleaning, but since Interstellar Arks are primarily fictional, leaving the fiction session in doesn't distract from the core concepts. If you were to remove the section from here, you may as well remove the fiction section from Mecha

What is an interstellar ark?

This article as it exists now is basically unintelligible because it doesn't provide any definition of what an interstellar ark is; it says it is "a conceptual space vehicle designed for interstellar travel" but without any clear definition of what features it has beyond that or what distinguishes it from other hypothetical types of interstellar vessels. It is the same as a generation ship. If so, why does it have its own article? If not, what is the difference? AJD (talk) 16:12, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
