Merge related routes into this article
It would probably make sense to merge State Route 51 and Interstate 305 into this, as those full roads are covered by I-80 Business. --SPUI (talk - don't use sorted stub templates!) 19:57, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Agree with move. They are essentially all the same route and Bus 80 is nominally the dominant route of the three in question.Gateman1997 07:01, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- Conditionally Agree with merging, as long as the BUS80 article doesn't get too long. There's still some information on both articles which could be good for this one. Also, let's try to get the succession links for both routes on the infobox. --LBMixPro<Speak|on|it!> 18:28, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Succession links for both can be fit in - see State Route 44 (California). --SPUI (talk - don't use sorted stub templates!) 18:47, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Not that I need to convince people, but I was thinking about this some more, and basically SR 51 and I-305 only exist because the Business 80 designation is not itself part of either (1) the state highway system or (2) the Interstate Highway System. Their whole purpose is to serve as behind-the-scenes numbers for Business 80. --SPUI (talk - don't use sorted stub templates!) 18:47, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
SR-160 in the exit list
As State Route 160 in Sacramento has been relinquished and the shields have been taken down, does this still have to be noted? Maybe put in "(Former State Route 160)"? --Geopgeop 15:57, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- What does the signage say for that exit now? --LBMixPro<Speak|on|it!> 18:28, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- I've been down on that stretch of road recently and they put overlays on top of the existing shields. --Geopgeop 07:45, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Correction on location
Business 80 does not run through Downtown Sacramento. I have removed that part. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.174.44.17 (talk • contribs) 13:34, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
Exit 11
Exit 11, Marconi Avenue, does not have an eastbound entrance. There is probably a source on it. 163.192.13.1 (talk) 23:33, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

Official I-305 designation
The current content about the I-305 designation on here and on U.S. Route 50 in California seems to be inaccurate, particularly the western terminus of I-305. Given that Caltrans does not officially recognize the I-305 designation, I do not think we should rely on Caltrans bridge logs, exit lists and other Caltrans documents. Let's instead take a look at two of the FHWA sources:
- Auxiliary Interstate Route Log gives I-305 a total mileage of 6. And note that the last column says "Urban Areas Served", not "every city", so do not assume that it is not including the portion in West Sacramento.
- Map of the National Highway System in Sacramento where there is a clear distinction of what routes are part of the Interstate system and which ones are other NHS routes.
The blue lines on the map indicating Interstate system routes show that the western terminus of I-305 should be at I-80 in West Sacramento, not I-5. And the distance from I-80 to SR 99 is 6 miles. Zzyzx11 (talk) 08:09, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
