- "This twin-span concrete viaduct, known as the Manchac Swamp Bridge, is only 0.7 miles (1.1 km) shorter than the nearby Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, the world's longest continuous bridge over water." You should change the sentence so it doesn't sound as trivial. Maybe just mention it as the second longest continuous bridge?
- I was not able to find a reliable source that numerically ranks the Manchac bridge (or the other runners-up to the Causeway), only its total length and its presence on lists of the world's longest bridges. But I also thought it made sense to compare the two bridges since, apart from their similar lengths, they are located near each other and perform a similar function—connecting the New Orleans area with the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Would the sentence sound less trivial if I made the reason for the comparison more clear? Britinvasion64 (talk) 22:25, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, that'll do it.—CycloneIsaac (Talk) 00:56, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
- "Spanning 5.4 miles (8.7 km), the bypass was designed to connect seamlessly with US 51 at either end, facilitating the flow of traffic around the west side of both downtown areas and eliminating four right-angle turns." Sentence needs to be cited.
- Done. It was in my notes but somehow didn't make it into the article. Britinvasion64 (talk) 02:42, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
That should be it.—CycloneIsaac (Talk) 00:52, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
