  • Will review, hopefully comments will be posted this weekend. Mark Arsten (talk) 19:46, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok, I've read through the article. This is actually the first road article I've reviewed, so I may be unfamiliar with some of the conventions. The article looks like it is in fine shape though, seems to be pretty well written. I made a few copyedits, feel free to revert if I damaged anything. Lead
  • I'd suggest putting the second paragraph in chronological order, mentioning the Buick name before the UAW.
  • You mention that the UAW name is "honoring the United Auto Workers, a labor union which was active in Flint", but don't explain the reasoning behind the Buick name, might want to do so.
  • "At the same time, the name of I-69/M-21 in Flint was changed from the "Chevrolet Freeway" to the "Chevrolet-Buick Freeway"." I'm not certain if this is significant enough for the lead, but not a big deal.
  • I-69 is linked twice here.
Route description
  • "where it runs for about 1+12 miles (2.4 km)" I'm curious why you used a fraction here?
    • To imply the level of imprecision in the measurement... 1.5 miles would imply a precision to the tenth of a mile, but 1½ miles implies only a precision to the nearest half (or maybe quarter) of a mile. Imzadi 1979  23:28, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
      • Interesting, I hadn't thought of that.
Memorial highway designations
  • "William Durant managed the fledgling Buick Manufacturing Company, making it the number one car-building in the country by 1908." Did you leave out a word here? Because otherwise I don't think "car-building" would be hyphenated.
  • "The strike started on December 30, 1936 when workers" I think a comma is generally placed after the year here too.
  • Might want to link National Guard here.
  • "January 3, 1937 when workers at the plant sat down on the job." Looks like an incomplete sentence here.
  • Another I-69 repeat link.
  • "President Franklin D. Roosevelt encouraged the two parties to sit down once more, and an agreement was signed, recognizing the UAW in the 17 striking plants across the country.[16] A local politician wanted to honor not just the automotive pioneers in Flint, but the workers that worked in the plants." Should probably note when the local politician came up with this idea.
Exit list
  • Genesee County is a repeat link here.
