I just noted in the main article that I-475 is primarilly six lanes (three in each direction). I'm not sure when the highway was widened. However, on my last two visits to Georgia (after 2002), the highway was already six lanes. An exact date as to when I-475 was widened would be appreciated. It is all 6 lanes, except for the southern approach to I-75 which is 4 lanes (currently being widened). I don't know why I-475 isn't the I-75 mainline (with I-16 for the northern leg of the Macon through route, and some spur number like I-175 for the downtown section and southern leg). There is now an Exit 1 (Northbound) on I-475. Since the reworking of the interchange, Hartley Bridge Road is signed as Exit 1 on I-475. It retains it's regular exit number on I-75. Mlc1958 —Preceding undated comment added 15:26, 10 March 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Distance saved

[edit]

Does anyone have a source saying how much mileage is saved by traveling on Interstate 475 bypassing Macon? --Mjrmtg (talk) 14:07, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
