Comments:
- "I-296 begins at the I-196 interchange west of the Grand River and downtown Grand Rapids where the three northbound lanes are on the left and the three southbound lanes are on the right", what are left and right in relation to? left-hand driving?
- "residential neighborhoods" and "commerical businesses" sound wordy.
- Combine the sentences "The last state map to show the I-296 designation is published in 1979. The 1980 map lacks any reference to the designation."
- In the exit list, it is possible to put the routes at the termini into one row instead of two?
- I am assuming a picture of the road will eventually be added.
I am placing the article on hold. ---Dough4872 01:31, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

- Copy-edited, hopefully clarified that the carriageways are on the "wrong" side of the freeway through here.
- Neighborhoods aren't always residential, and the businesses could be industrial. (They aren't.) No changes made.
- Done.
- Won't do that, as that would imply that they are concurrent then, which they aren't.
- At some point, weather and schedule permitting, yes, I am taking a photo of the freeway.
