[edit]Should this article be called "transracial adoption"? It seems that the citations refer to "transracial adoption" rather than "interracial adoption". It seems that these terms are used interchangeably, but there may be a subtle difference between the two. --Yes: transracial adoption is the term widely used in the academic and popular media on the topic. "Interracial" is a dated term. Notice that even if you google "interracial adoption", almost all of the hits (besides Wikipedia) are for "transractial adoption. --90.198.191.24 (talk) 20:25, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- "interracial adoption" is the best known name for it (or so I thought), so I think it is under the right name under Wikipedia naming conventions. Google results disagree with me though so maybe you can see about getting it changed. You will have to ask someone who is more familiar with doing that. (Sorry, I am just familiar with minor editing.)

- I think "transracial adoption" is a better title, because the word 'interracial' is tainted due to it being associated with pornography.--Flesh and blood and need and want (talk) 23:59, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
The statistics section is completely American-centric, is that right??? Inter-racial adoption occurs in other countries too! Are there any worldwide statistics at hand?? Surely these should be cited instead, or it should be made clear that the current statistics are American only. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.98.28.80 (talk) 20:48, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
In the article's current state, the third paragraph of the Statistics section refers exclusively to the UK, but I have to say, as an UKian educated to University level, that much of it is written in jargonistic, opaque language that I have difficulty making much sense of. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 212.95.237.92 (talk) 20:51, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Appearance discomfort section
[edit]This section may have copied and pasted information from elsewhere. It includes the line "Furthermore, we did not find differences in self-esteem between transracial and same-race adoptees" (not in quotes) which reads like text from a research study, and should potentially either be paraphrased or put in quotes, but I don't have access to the cited article.
The next paragraph has in-line citations that makes me think it was pasted from someone's thesis or another paper. Es2241 (talk) 14:35, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
