Hello Friends! I'm a student at the University of Alabama studying Relational Communications. This is a great page that addresses a very interesting topic and I have an interest in seeing if I can help make it an page even better. I'd like to propose adding some citations and links throughout the page, as well as some images with appropriate links. I'm looking forward to researching to see if there is any more current research on Interperonsonal Deception Theory since this page was published and include it as well.--Dwfelice (talk) 17:49, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello everyone, I am a student from Georgetown University. This theory is both intriguing and practical—a new area of knowledge I hadn’t encountered before. As someone exploring this theory article for the first time, I found that the introduction effectively presents the theory by explaining its focus on deception in face-to-face communication and emphasizing the dynamic interaction between sender and receiver. This leads seamlessly into the article’s further sections on the theoretical perspective, propositions, and other key elements.

Overall, the structure of the article is clear and logical. It progresses coherently from explaining the theory itself (Theoretical Perspective), tracing its historical development (History), and discussing the 21 verifiable propositions and core elements (Receiver's Role, Emotion), through to critiques, experiments, and finally practical applications (Online Dating). This logical flow and detailed content allow readers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the theory’s key aspects. The article maintains a neutral tone, with little bias or subjective inference, showing no signs of favoritism or negative prejudice.

However, I believe that the most significant area for improvement in this article is the lack of sufficient inline citations. Many sections lack specific references, leaving readers unsure of the source of certain information. This lack of citations makes it difficult for readers to pursue further study on particular points and affects the article’s credibility and academic rigor.

Overall, I have learned a great deal about this theory from this page, and I appreciate the efforts and contributions of everyone involved in creating it. Zhidong Sun (talk) 23:51, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
