Supernational
[edit]I can remember being on holiday in either Torquay or Bournemouth as a kid (early/mid 1980s) and the local branch of International Stores being called Supernational presumably because it was larger than a normal supermarket of the time but Im afraid I can not provide a definate source for this can anyone help? The Torquay branch was indeed called Supernational. I actually worked there. I did redit and put a link but it was removed without a given reason(82.240.244.27 (talk) 12:29, 20 January 2018 (UTC)).
Mac Market
[edit]International acquired the Mac Market chain of supermarkets in the early part of the 1980s - the chain had stores in various places including London (one is seen in a title sequence for the TV series Steptoe and Son) and Cannock (opened about 1981 but it quite quickly became International). I don't know much of the history of Mac Market.EmleyMoor (talk) 16:28, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
I writing something on shops in Oxford in the 1950s and I am confused because I thought that there was also a smaller International Stores without the Tea bit and I am having difficulty finding anything on it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 1st RTR (talk • contribs) 15:31, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
