[edit]I would just like to let all you know that I think that the name of this page should be changed to The International School of Kuala Lumpur because that is the factually correct name please voteRohanv123 (talk) 00:52, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
I'd just like to make a note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. This means that any additions to ISKL should be facts that contribute to a coherent article about the school. In particular, this is NOT the place for:
- Promoting your school event.
- Writing about yourself, your teachers, or friends unless general concensus says that they have made a huge impact in ISKL history, and if they have, state the said influence factually, concisely, and integrate it with the article.
- Speaking of the family or social lives of indivdiduals affiliated with ISKL.
- Calling your acquaintences and friends "Notable Alumni". Sections such as Notable Alumni should be used to describe those who are well beyond school and made a significant historic impact in the world (such as celebrities, Nobel prize winners, those who have accepted important government positions, part of well-known fine arts groups, etc.), not those who are just "notable" to you, your friends, or a bunch of students. For example, see [Stuyvesant High School] or [Taipei American School] for a few good examples.
Also, please try to work on the overall completeness and quality of the article as a whole before you add specific details about individual projects and events. Just remember that this is an encyclopedia and should explain ISKL's place in the world and history. It should not attempt to promote ISKL or be a resource for advertising or trying to gain fame. That said I do encourage anyone to take note of how other encyclopedia articles are written, either in other encyclopedias or in the Featured Articles or Good Article designations of Wikipedia, and help make this article more complete and representative of ISKL history and present as a whole. - Support. I really don't think a vote is required here. – AxSkov (☏) 06:15, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
This article has been renamed after the result of a move request. No poll needed on this one. Dragons flight 07:26, September 10, 2005 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Add any additional comments
- Yes it is. As the title suggests, "opinion" is not a "fact". An encyclopedia is built upon facts, not opinions (well most of it, there are opinions that become facts over time of course). The section was extremly POV (point-of-view) written, and as such disqualifies as wikipedia content. Aetherfukz 11:06, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Notable Alumni
[edit]It would be great to get a notable alumni section. I don't know any, personally, but I'm sure there are at least a handful. --184.64.102.148 (talk) 20:56, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
