Classes
[edit]Would it be possible to get details added on what differentiates the different classes besides titles? For example, requirements of skill, etc. This is a fascinating subject to me. Turlo Lomon 01:46, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- I was thinking about this as well and I'm not sure how to describe the difficulty levels into words. I can only speak from my own personal experience as a spectator as well as intention to participate in my local region next year in "Basic". As you go up in the classes, you are asked to do more and more difficult maneuvers. For example, in Basic, the complexity of maneuvers are, for a lack of a better word, basic.. Things like "rolls", "loops", "stall turns" are the norm. As you go up in difficulty, you are asked to combine maneuvers together, do more complex aerobatics like 2 to 4 point rolls, snaps and stall spins, outside loops, knife edge loops, etc. In the Unlimited class, you probably have at least 10 years of hard-core aerobatic experience behind you or a lot of flight time on the computer simulators. -Gdavidp 02:00, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe a certain score amount or rank of difficulty? (Based on the moves, etc.) They are ranked. For example, Beginner would be 3 K Moves. (Totally maknig up stuff here - so don't fault me for inaccuracies). I am really hoping my son wants to get into this when he is older because I wasn't allowed to have one as a kid, and I want to live vicariously through him. Turlo Lomon 02:06, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- It is never too late to start in this hobby. It is in fact recommended, since it is an expensive hobby, and for safety reasons, you must really be on top of these things. These machines have accidentally killed people. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gdavidp (talk • contribs) 02:20, 10 December 2006 (UTC).
- LOL. Just finished reading some of the guides on the site. My god! There is a lot of stuff to know, and a ton more to judge on. I'll come up with some theories if you are stuck. Turlo Lomon 02:12, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes I know, thats why I do not feel qualified yet to take this article in that direction. :) -Gdavidp 02:14, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Experimenting. Let's see how it turns out. Turlo Lomon 02:19, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- How's that? I hope I gave it justice. Turlo Lomon 02:57, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Good good. -Gdavidp 04:14, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
