Outline for Major Revision/Edit

[edit]

So here is what I had in mind, modified by what you gave me:

  • Introduction – A standard intro including a brief summary of the organization and its efforts
  • History
  • Areas of work-Combine Activities and Rights section from the current page and add more information based on the objectives stated by IFES on their website. Also this section should include what national and international mandates or initiatives make IFES and it’s activities possible.
  • Regions with an IFES presence- Each will have descriptions of the programs in the region referenced from the IFES website as well as News, UN and international organization documentation.
  1. Middle East/North Africa
  2. Europe
  3. Asia
  4. Americas
  • Publications- Section should be Based on the website. Should be brief, and should wiki-link to main pages for each of the major publications as well as a list of the minor ones.
  • IFES Personnel- We will start with high profile; to include all the CoPs, directors, directors emeriti, etc might be too much for one page and might not be constructive
  • References- The notes go here
  • Sources- Any major comprehensive sources go here, like books and major websites
  • External Links

I am adding the list of IFES personel, a handful will be given external links, that will be changed as wikilinks become available. SADADS (talk) 18:46, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

COI

[edit]

Seeing that I do most of the edits for this page, I want to make sure no-one thinks I am trying to create a spin for this page. For the disclaimer see my User page. SADADS (talk) 19:55, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The structure of the lead is possibly biased. Please reflect in it the structure of the article. That means giving the various fields of this organization and not so much a list of important organizations they cooperate with because that's of minor importance. It's enough to say that they cooperate with other NGO and GO. Wandalstouring (talk) 16:39, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Americas

[edit]

I could really use someone that reads Spanish to find reliable third party sources on this section. From what I do know to be associated with IFES and it's Americas activity, the majority of the sources are in Spanish. SADADS (talk) 14:09, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please Assess

It would be awesome if someone other than myself would assess this article. SADADS (talk) 20:34, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rating

[edit]

I have rated this article as C class. It looks like a very good start so far, especially the use of sources. To gain B class i think the main thing to improve is the article structure and prose. Reading articles with dozens of very small sub-sections can be tiring for a reader, giving them more reason to click away. I would remove the country sub-sub-section and write a single paragrpah for each country, with these paragraphs simply under the continent sub-section headings. It is also generally prefered that lists be written instead as prose paragraphs, so the history section and areas of activity could be written with this in mind.

The list of Party leaders etc seemed excessive to me. Those that are notable (ie have a wiki article) or especially important to the party should be covered elsewhere in the article, but the wholle list is not needed. Not a big deal now, but i expect it would prevent the article passing GA.

Good job so far, and good luck with future work on it!YobMod 19:40, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
