[edit]Rebekahs are the women's branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, which is a Family Fraternity with
Odd Fellow Lodges, Rebekah Lodges, Junior Lodges for Boys and Theta Rho Girls Clubs.
We are a Fraternal organization with members in many countries.
We meet in groups called "lodges" once or twice a month. Each meeting includes business, with a social hour following.
We come from all walks of life, and from different faiths.
We do not, and should not take the place of your Church.
We have a common belief in a Supreme Being, a love and loyalty to our country, and a desire to aid and support each other and those around us in distress.
We follow a ritual, which was first established in 1851. This printed word enables members to learn the beautiful teachings of our Order while becoming familiar with the unwritten part of the work gives members a sense of satisfaction and belonging.
Each lodge and each jurisdiction (usually the lodges in one state or province) has its own special projects, and contributes to some Order-wide projects.
We support each other emotionally, physically and, when necessary, financially through special funding.
We work together to raise money through various activities, special events or sales to support our projects.
Rebekah Creed
I am a Rebekah.
I believe in the Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of man and the Sisterhood of woman.
I believe in the watchwords of our Order -- Friendship, Love and Truth.
Friendship is like a golden chain that ties our hearts together.
Love is one of our most precious gifts, the more you give, the more you receive.
Truth is the standard by which we value people. It is the foundation of our society.
I believe that my main concern should be my God, my family, and my friends.
I then should reach out to my community and the world, for in God's eyes we are all brothers and sisters.
I am a Rebekah!
