This page ought to redirect to Gravitational-wave_observatory#Interferometers or someone should move the material from that link to here. As it stands, I have added a sentence in the introduction to this page directing the reader to that link since almost all the information on interferometric gravitational-wave detector is found there. - I think the content of theGravitational-wave_observatory#Interferometers works in that context and it may be helpful for this page to expand on what limits the sensitivity of the detectors, i.e. what is found in paragraph 3 about shot noise, thermal noise, suspension noise, etc. The research that is done to reduce noise effects has led to profound impacts in other areas of physics. For example, on a path to reduce shot noise, the measurement constraints of the standard quantum limit have been surpassed through Squeezed_states_of_light. I am interested in starting to build that out this page and will start an outline for it. I will share it here before adding it to the main page. --Cosmojellyfish (talk) 20:57, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
