Wait, what?

This article is pretty poor. While the subject matter can be guessed from the title, the choice of content is bizarre. Someone reading this page would mistakenly get the impression that the guitarists listed play related styles of music, or are the most notable and influential instrumental guitarists; when they are in fact players in different genres from different time periods in no discernable order, and the list is heavily skewed to modern metal/progressive work - so, eg Andrés Segovia is ignored ("...considered to be the father of the modern classical guitar movement"), as is Django Reinhardt ("Chet Atkins, [...] placed Reinhardt #1 on a list of the ten most influential guitarists of the 20th century"), hit artists of the 60s (when Instrumental Rock was regularly in the charts) like Hank Marvin, Dick Dale; not a single delta blues guitarist; and no influential folk instrumentalists (Davey Graham, John Fahey spring to mind), and no Flamenco. And describing Jeff Beck as the 'godfather' of such a disparate bunch is bizarre.

But if I wrote the article with all that, it would be just as bad. Someone needs to find an opinion piece in a guitar magazine and replace this page with a verifiable piece with citations, rather than original research. --Bazzargh (talk) 18:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC) ( ... eh, thats my rant over :) )
