You're getting a little ahead of yourself.
"At least one major contributor to this article appears to have a close personal or professional connection to the topic" - Is there any evidence for this? Why were changes reverted prior to discussion on this talk page?
"An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment" - Similarly, any evidence for this? As far as I can see, all this information is publicly available and I was in the process of referencing the missing portions when the article was kindly reverted and trimmed to the point of irrelevance.
I'm also unsure as to why links have been removed from notable figures (many of which have their own articles) and a plethora of references and history information about the Institution.
I'm in agreement that a huge list of past presidents is not appropriate for the article, however the work that the organisation undertakes in study groups and publications is in the public interest. Especially in the United Kingdom.
