A "hogeschool" is not an university, even if it gives out masters degrees.
Translation of local news in foreign languages
[edit]I translated the section on the quality of education at Inholland from the Dutch language site. The reason is that wiki pages on educational institutions (universities, colleges, etc) are for better or worse among the hits in search engines. To create a level playing field, any positive or negative news on an institutions should be fully disclosed by to all students.
Of course everyone has strong incentives to keep quiet about negative news. However, educational institutions, especially those based in the European Union, even more so because of the tuition fee structure. Students from its own country and EU countries are charged tuition fees up to a maximum set by the national government, supplemented by government grants. As tuition fees limits for non-EU students are much higher, institutions may try to attract non-EU students and charge high fees to cross-subsidize EU students.
For that reason institutions will try to segments the markets. Typically they already have a well-established good or bad reputation in their own countries, so the national-language website will just state some facts, without much boasting (for example, students in EU countries do not tend to care too much about ranking, because they already have a preconceived idea of the institutions they are going to based on stories from other students). Typically these institutions do not yet have a reputation abroad, so they use their own website and wikipedia to create an brand new online image (for example, by boasting about rankings). This by itself is not bad. However, they must make sure that key information is consistent across the versions. Globalwikireader (talk) 01:58, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

INHolland university of applied sciences → INHolland University of Applied Sciences — Needs proper capitalisation. See WP:MOSFOLLOW.--Rddeblois (talk) 23:34, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Agree, but proper capitalization would be Inholland University of Applied Sciences per their own website. Powers T 14:40, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
