[edit]"The American Film Institute was founded by a 1965 presidential mandate announced in the Rose Garden of the White House by Lyndon B. Johnson—to establish a national arts organization to preserve the legacy of American film heritage, educate the next generation of filmmakers, and honor the artists and their work. Two years later, in 1967, AFI was established, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Motion Picture Association of America and the Ford Foundation."
"Operated by the Research Department of The Broadway League, a trade association for the North American commercial theatre community." IBDB "is an online database of Broadway theatre productions and their personnel, including lengths of runs, lists of casts and creators, awards and nominations, and past box office grosses. Its research department maintains historical data on individual playhouses and productions. In addition, many reference documents, including weekly box office grosses and season-by-season statistics, are available to the public, journalists, and scholars via the website."

... that Casablanca co-stars Ingrid Bergman, Humphrey Bogart and Paul Henreid (lobby poster pictured) believed the film would be insignificant, and wanted out of their commitments to it?See 3rd paragraph, 2nd sentence, embedded note has the source and references
5x expanded by Maile66 (talk). Self-nominated at 18:04, 26 December 2020 (UTC).
- Text has been expanded sufficiently and recently enough. It is properly referenced wit inline citations. The hook is mentioned in the article. No copyvio obvious. GreatLakesShips (talk) 03:58, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Maile, the way the hook is worded and the choice of bolding for the link make it sound like this article is only about the movie Casablanca. The image is also unsuitable at thumbnail size. Yoninah (talk) 21:46, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- I never get it right, do I? Perhaps someone can offer a different hook? Doesn't have to be about Casablanca, and there are numerous images in the article. — Maile (talk) 22:24, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Here is a better image. Here's another idea:
- ALT1:
... that Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman (pictured) did not think viewers would accept her playing Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, but her performance added a Primetime Emmy to her awards shelf?Yoninah (talk) 23:04, 3 January 2021 (UTC) - ALT2: ... that Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman (pictured) did not think she would be believable as Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, but her performance added a Primetime Emmy to her awards shelf? Yoninah (talk) 23:09, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yoninah I'm fine with both ALT1 and ALT2. A Woman Called Golda was my first idea for a hook, but I didn't like the only image I could find about it. But if either of these ALTs can be used with this other image, I'm delighted. — Maile (talk) 23:29, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Maybe you might want to tweak the wording a little. She was deceased when the award was announced. — Maile (talk) 23:31, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Why do we have to mention that? Her dying has nothing to do with how many awards she won. Yoninah (talk) 23:44, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- You don't have to mention it. — Maile (talk) 23:48, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. Pinging original reviewer @GreatLakesShips: to review ALTs 1 and 2, and new image. Yoninah (talk) 00:06, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Yoninah:@Maile66: Both hooks could be used, but I personally prefer ALT2. The image appears to be PD, although, I think it would look better without the discolouration at the top. GreatLakesShips (talk) 01:24, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
