File:IRIS-T expo head2.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:IRIS-T expo head2.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

The whole article

[edit]

I fear the person that wrote this is a "conspiracy theorist". This is one of the worst so-called articles I've ever read on wikipedia. Partly because theres only (edited) 2 references being used to quote a lot of "facts"; and partly because of the obscene frequency italics, "quotation marks", and the phrase 'so-called' have been used. I'm not fussed if I get banned for being blunt. This is a bad article. I don't know the correct format for editing things/comments, so I've copied the previous user. This is my first time editing wikipedia, I've never been this upset by a page before. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.7.125.237 (talk) 18:28, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Modulation? Scanning?

[edit]

This is a sensor. What's being modulated, and how does this improve the detection? I'm also not very clear what 'spin scan' and 'conical scan' refer to. Can these sections be elaborated? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:470:E87F:0:21C:C0FF:FE91:7FB8 (talk) 07:29, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Diagrams Needed.

[edit]

Particularly for the optical systems. The descriptive text is very dense and hard to follow. A picture is worth a thousand words - as the saying goes. I would imagine that the text books that are used to educate the scientists and engineers in this field would have a large number of such diagrams. For the lay person this visual clarity is even more important. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.93.81.127 (talk) 23:42, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikidata item

[edit]

Infrared homing#Rosette seekers mentions rosette scan, which has the German equivalent de:w:Rosettenabtastung. Because there's no English equivalent, I created Rosette scan as a redirect and added a statement, that wikidata:Q1494704 is a subclass of wikidata:Q1366032. --ThT (talk) 21:20, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
