"Wednesday update: Bad news at InfoSpace, a new Connexion, etc." http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/venture/archives/106949.asp Mathiastck 16:25, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've updated the article with this info. They should have branched out a little more... pitty.Binarypower 06:10, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
Current list of external links
I think they should all be removed per WP:EL, WP:SPAM, and WP:NOT#LINK. This article is about Infospace, not Naveen Jain, yet these links make little or no mention of Infospace, and all are primarily about Jain. --Ronz (talk) 20:50, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- I removed all but the link to the 1999 article, which provides some typical internet-boom coverage. --Ronz (talk) 17:28, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Questions
What are the differences between Dogpile, Webcrawler, and Metacrawler? It doesn't make sense for Infospace to own different sites that apparently use the same methods in searching. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.230.241.38 (talk) 00:06, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
New page about the event surrounding InfoSpace during the dot-com crash
I created a new article describing what happened during that time here and would appreciate any feedback. --Nightseeder(Chat). 20:26, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Gale Directory of Company Histories
A nice source for verification and expansion: "Infospace Inc". Answers Corporation. --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Page is out of date
This article does not appear to have any recent information reguarding Infospace. The last section mentions dismantling, when Infospace just purchased TaxAct for $287.5 million. : "TaxAct Acquisition". InvestorsPlace. --TC (talk) 16:04, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Name change
After the purchase of TaxAct, Infospace has undergone a rebranding to the new corporate name Blucora. Their trading symbol is now BCOR and on June 7th 2012 the Blucora team rang the NASDAQ bell. : "Blucora opens NASDAQ". NASDAQ. --TC (talk) 14:40, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
>>Change accepted and has been done by me, Andzlatin (talk) 15:11, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
So Where is MOVISO?
Ralph "The Father of the Ringtone" Simon started Yourmobile (later renamed Moviso) and when I clicked onto the Moviso link it then sent me to Blucora. I can't understand why it would send me there unless it used to be a precursor to Blucora and/or it's subsidiaries. Would anybody care to explain why somebody set up this connection? 184.76.56.97 (talk) 07:43, 26 July 2013 (UTC)JSJR 7262013
Founders
Seems google news archives aren't what they were. Still, I believe we can find sources confirming that all six were considered co-founders: --Ronz (talk) 22:14, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- There's the easy one, his wife. --Ronz (talk) 22:14, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- I'd prefer something better for Facq. --Ronz (talk) 22:24, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

- A similar one about Facq. --Ronz (talk) 22:35, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

- Someone named Glenn Byrd is listed as "founder!" --Ronz (talk) 22:32, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Kohli worked for InfoSpace in 96 and got lots of options, doesn't verify but makes it plausible enough to continue looking. --Ronz (talk) 02:57, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- Primary source. Lists a Chris Matty as "Founding executive of InfoSpace." Lists a Kevin Marcus as a co-founder at both InfoSpace and Intelius. --Ronz (talk) 03:03, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

- Jean-Remy Facq, Kevin Marcus "came to InfoSpace straight from college", Charles Mathieu "who also was an original InfoSpace employee". --Ronz (talk) 16:50, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Gives names of early employees. --Ronz (talk) 23:04, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
I'm not sure where to draw the line on sources and original research. The title of "founder" means very little, so using company directories might be fine. --Ronz (talk) 16:47, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
My initial comment here referred to my memory of a source, which I cannot find, about Jain leaving Microsoft with co-workers to found Infospace. Six seems to be about the correct number, but I cannot verify that either. --Ronz (talk) 16:26, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Six added by editor JeanRemyFacq
Granted, this is not a source, but worth looking at closer [1]:
- Punam Agrawal
- Jean-Remy Facq
- Anu Jain
- Naveen Jain
- Sanjay Kohli
- Richard Openheimer
I'll bet these are the six that started the company, and that other "founders" joined early. --Ronz (talk) 18:22, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
Summary
Let's see what we have so far: --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Punam Agrawal (Jain's sister-in-law)
Hard to dispute.--Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)- Very likely, but I'd prefer a better source. --Ronz (talk) 21:01, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- Glenn Byrd
- Primary source, but should be fine. --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Jean-Remy Facq
- Multiple primary sources, plus secondary sources mentioning him as early employee. --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Anu Jain (Anuradha Jain)
- Source looks fine. --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Naveen Jain
- Obvious. --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Sanjay Kohli
- Primary source. Looks likely. --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Kevin Marcus
Needs to be investigated further.--Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Charles Mathieu
- Looks likely. --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Chris Matty
- Needs to be investigated further. --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Richard Openheimer
- I'm wondering if this is a misspelling. --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
Where to draw the line
I'm not finding anything like a sourced list of founders, so where should we draw the line at which names to include? --Ronz (talk) 17:00, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
Gotham City Research report
An interesting report on Blucora: http://gothamcityresearch.com/2014/02/18/blucora-i-e-infospace-worse-than-blinkx-plc-babylon-ltd/ Maproom (talk) 07:42, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
