Any other sources other than the one from Woollim??

[edit]

Is there any other sources providing information of the positions of members? If not, I don't see a reason why the positions of members are always being edited all the times, although vocalist sounds better, there's not much of a source that is more typical than the one from Woollim, so I think maybe we should just let it be until we find a source that is better than the one from Woollim......well unless you want our work to be undone every time. But I do have a question, is the one from Woollim the best source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Owen2124 (talkcontribs) 16:30, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The group consists of 7 members: Sunggyu, Dongwoo, Woohyun, Hoya, Sungyeol, Myungsoo/L in the band info should be changed to include Sungjong. Someone has removed him. 66.68.49.17 (talk) 01:26, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. This was removed by a certain vandal that has been blocked Evaders99 (talk) 06:14, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

About Infinite's Music Genre

[edit]

In the article it says Pop, R&B, and Dance. Because most of their songs sounds like 80s (you know those synth, electronic, and other instruments like that), don't you think we can add New Wave Genre? Titus.sihombing (talk) 00:00, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reason why Visual and Maknae were removed?

[edit]

Just noticed that these two were removed, and I wonder why. L's role in the group is being the Visual other than a Vocalist, it's been confirmed on multiple variety programs, and even INFINITE themselves. And Sungjong is self-explainable; the youngest. These are legit positions in boy and girl groups, and confirmed. 74.102.88.191 (talk) 01:36, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's great news. Do you have the confirmation link so that we can link it to the article? Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 01:40, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Depends on what's acceptable. It's mentioned on their variety shows once it's subbed in English (however, not sure what are the terms of videos, if any), and typically magazine interviews. Like this one: https://keksprinzessin.wordpress.com/2012/08/22/interview-infinite-september-2012s-issue-of-elle-girl/

Actual Elle scans, in case there needs to be more confirmation by anyone who understands: http://infinitesoul.wordpress.com/2012/08/21/pics-120821-infinite-elle-girl-magazine-september-2012-issue/ 74.102.88.191 (talk) 07:57, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

These are from wordpress and are blogs, not reliable sources. Also quote from the interview: Each of the 7 members of Infinite have different charms. So I think that we’re all corresponding to the visual position. So they are all "visual" That doesn't say much. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 12:38, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

If you click on 'She's Back' under their Japanese Discography you will be directed to the page 'She's Back', an album by Debbie Deb instead of the song by INFINITE, with the actual intended page suggested at the top. Would it be possible to change it so that it links directly to She's Back (song) instead?

"Visual"?

[edit]

"Visual" isn't a real position, is it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeromechrome (talkcontribs) 05:04, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"A visual is a member of the group who is very good looking and eye catching and his job in the group would be make the group more visually catching/appealing, make the group more "good looking". Other examples of 'visuals' are Goo Hara of KARA or L of Infinite. But don't get confused with "face of the group", because it's not the same. Face of the group is the member the general public recognizes the most. Though many times the face of the group is the visual (like in Infinite or KARA's case), other times it can be any member who is the most popular. For example in Block B Zico is the face of the group while Jaehyo is the best looking, or in U-KISS Dongho is the face while Kiseop is the visual. But not every group has an 'official' visual." What is a visual and what do they do? --212.23.103.61 (talk) 00:09, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Chiming in real late to say, Yahoo Answers is not a real source and is just something a random fan wrote. "Visual" is not a real thing at all, just something catchy-sounding the agencies cooked up. It should in no way be included on Wikipedia. We'd never include claims by the agency that their artist is the most talented person on earth, so we won't include made-up position names, either. It's up to editors to put agency claims in reliably-sourced, encyclopedic, NPOV language, not blindly restate agency PR junk. :) Shinyang-i (talk) 20:01, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Woollim Entertainment artists

[edit]

Epik High is no longer with Woollim. Introduction needs correction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeromechrome (talkcontribs) 05:15, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Kim Sunggyu Was born in April 28, 1989, Kim first auditioned to SM Entertainment but got rejected twice and finally he auditioned to Woollim Entertainment and became a trainee, and he appeared with infinite memebers before their debut on a tv show show called "You Are My Oppa" as the infinite memebers don't have any younger sisters. after two years of training and hard work, Sunggyu became the leader of infinite and they debuted with their first song "Comeback Again" in 2010. Last year in 2012, Sunggu made his solo debut, Pre-releasing his song, Shine, which his label mates Nell helped him with his first mini album with the songs "I Need You" and "Shine". The album was titled " Another Me " which Sunggyu named because his album was a different side of him and unlike infinite's style and more a rock feeling since Sunggyu loved rock since he was in high school and he used to be in a high school band which he did formed it and he always looks up to his labelmates Nell, he liked their style since he was in high school and they are the first reason why Sunggyu chose to sign with Woollim Entertainment. In 2012, Sunggyu made a comeo appearance in a drama called "The Thousand Man" , which his fellow infinite member Woohyun was casted in it.

On November 9, 2012 Sunggu released his first mini album "Another Me" and his fellow memeber L was featured in Sunggyu's title track song 60 seconds MV. His album topped the Hanteo chart and to date it has sold 62,958 copies. Sunggyu made his musical debut with memeber Woohyun in "Gwanghwamun Sonata" on the 7, Februry to the March 11 at the LG Arts Center.

Also Sunggyu joined "Immortal Song 2" with Super Junior's Ryeowook and covered the songs: " Impossible Love", " My Heart Is Like The Stars", " Woman On The Beach" which he sang it with his fellow infinite member Dongwoo by sining the rap and labelmates Baby Soul, "Wave", "Dam Da Di" and his last appearnce on "Immotral Song 2" he sang "I'll Give Everything To You" which was his first win. In December 22, He returned with his fellow infinite member Woohyun and covered the song" The Day Sun Rises". Also, despite his age, Sunggyu was the second member to learn the Scorpion Dance from his fellow infinite member Hoya for their "Before The Dawn" MV in 2011.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.126.87.188 (talk) 13:25, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Include more details to the members section?

[edit]

I personally feel that the members section lack details, especially for members such as Woohyun, Sungyeol and Sungjong who does not have a wiki page of their own. After looking through several other bands' wikipedia page, I've referenced the MBLAQ's page which I think have sufficient information about the members. I believe that this will better benefit others who do not know about Infinite. I've gathered the details from the infinite official site.

Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose member pages Jang Dong-woo and Lee Sung-jong be merged into the main Infinite (band) article. Both articles contain basically no information and are just lists of primarily variety show appearances and endorsements, all or most of which were done with Infinite and most of which are not notable. The acting credits in the films are Infinite films, done with Infinite. Also, one of them has no sources at all and the other has only one (and it's the non-acceptable source Allkpop). BLP articles require copious reliable sources. If someone can add some real substance to those articles with actual biographical information (sourced from secondary, independent RS), not just "lists of stuff" then there may not be a need to merge. But as the articles are right now, they cannot be allowed to continue to exist (BLP requirements). Shinyang-i (talk) 05:58, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Right. I'm going to merge them right now: they are entirely too promotional, too much like fan pages, and clearly these people are not individually notable. The alternative is straightforward deletion, after trimming the articles down to "Person x is a member of this band". Drmies (talk) 15:59, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Member Listing Problem & Group Status

[edit]

To my knowledge the group is NOT disbanded. However:

  1. Hoya: left the company & the group in 2017
  2. last group release: Song "Clock", February 2019
  3. L: left the company & the group in August 2019
  4. Sungkyu, Dongwoo & Sungyeol: left the company in March 2021
  5. Sungjong: will end his military service in May 2021

That seemingly leaves Woohyun & Sungjong, 2 of the originally 7 members, as INFINITE members. IIRC Sungkyu said he wanted to still participate in group activity after leaving Woollim. The question now is: Who is a current member, who is a former member? Starting with L leaving, no changes were allowed by the Wikipedia community. --2A02:810C:CFBF:F7B4:C8F8:ECFC:6A59:5415 (talk) 09:53, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
