Proposed changes
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
- What I think should be changed (include citations):
Add to 1st section: It also partners with businesses to provide tenant experience management services and change more than 150 locations to more than 200.[1]
History section:
Cut 2012 from 1st paragraph for repetition (already mentioned in 1st section).
Add founding location: Industrious was founded in Chicago...[2]
Add to top of section, after 1st sentence: The company built its business model on management agreements with building owners, enabling Industrious to operate portions of a building.[3] Industrious expanded into New York City in 2015 with a Brooklyn location, later moving its headquarters to Manhattan.[4] In 2019, Industrious announced the launch of its Tenant Experience platform, an offering where it partners with businesses to create and maintain amenities, event and conference spaces, and lobbies for businesses. Companies that have partnered with Industrious on this platform include Cushman & Wakefield and Nuveen.[5][6][7] In August 2023, CEO Jamie Hodari said the company’s revenue tripled since 2019, and its revenue growth rate was between 35% and 40%.[8]
Add to Partnerships section:
In February 2023, Nuveen announced a partnership with Industrious’s Tenant Experience platform to help manage the consumer branding and tenant experience across its portfolio of 64 office buildings in 13 states.[5]
In June 2023, the company announced a partnership with the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council to offer company retreats at The Arts Center at Governors Island.[9]
In July 2023, the company partnered with Instacart, which became the official same-day snack, beverage, and supplies marketplace for its U.S. coworking spaces.[10]
In August 2023, the company announced a partnership with IKEA to open an Industrious location above the store in the San Francisco Meeting Place mall.[11]
Add to Acquisitions section:
In May 2021, Industrious acquired the listings platform and branding rights of the Canadian rent-by-the-day office company Breather.[12]
In May 2022, Industrious expanded globally, acquiring Great Room Offices and Welkin & Meraki to expand its footprint in Asia and Europe. Through these transactions, Industrious added almost 1 million square feet to the firm’s portfolio, with locations in Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Paris, Brussels and the Netherlands. At the time of the announcement, the company expressed plans to double its international presence, possibly entering cities including Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Dublin, Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing.[13]
In February 2024, Industrious subsidiary Breather and Deskpass, one of the largest networks of on-demand flexible workspaces, announced plans to merge and focus on offering shared workspaces for 90 days or less.[14]
Add to Notable Locations section:
Ponce City Market in Atlanta[15]
The Gulch in Nashville[16]
Century City in Los Angeles[17]
Penn 1 in New York City[18]
3 World Trade Center in New York City[19]
Bryant Park in New York City[20]
860 Broadway in New York City[21]
Raffles Hotel in Singapore[22]
Centennial Tower in Singapore[23]
Gaysorn Village in Bangkok
Castlereagh St. in Sydney, Australia[24]
70 St Mary Axe in London[25]
- Why it should be changed: To update to the latest accurate information about the business.
- References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): See citations above. Thank you!

- @Teaearlgrayveryhot @Kvng Just checking on whether you might want to review, since you've reviewed / edited this page before? Appreciate your consideration!

- The addition of further 'Notable Locations' seems to me to be purely promotional. The place for that sort of list is on the company's own website. Most of the rest of the material above seems to be little more than a series of press release type statements tracking the company's growth. It isn't necessary to detail in an encyclopaedia every partnership/acquisition that a company is involved in. I'm sure that this could be detailed in a more broadbrush and WP:DUE fashion Axad12 (talk) 11:07, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Appreciate your feedback! What about these edit requests -- would these be more broadbrush and therefore acceptable? Please let me know what you think!
- Add to 1st section: It also partners with businesses to provide tenant experience management services and change more than 150 locations to more than 200.[26]
- Done non-controversial correction of source. Rusalkii (talk) 18:31, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- History section:
- Cut 2012 from 1st paragraph for repetition (already mentioned in 1st section).
- Not done The lead (first section) is supposed to summarize the content of the rest of the article, see WP:LEAD. Rusalkii (talk) 18:31, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Add founding location: Industrious was founded in Chicago...[27]
- Not done, it already mentioned that the first location was in Chicago, this ends up repetitive. If you would like to propose a wording that eliminates the repetition go ahead. Rusalkii (talk) 18:31, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

- Partly done added first sentence about headquarters. Rusalkii (talk) 18:31, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

Wikidelrey (talk) 21:01, 2 August 2024 (UTC)- What I said was "It isn't necessary to detail in an encyclopaedia every partnership/acquisition that a company is involved in". I didn't say "If you just roll them all up into a smaller amount of space it will be okay". In what sense is that "more broadbrush"? Well done for removing the "notable locations" though. Axad12 (talk) 21:16, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- I've done the non-acquisition/partnership related parts of this edit request and marked it closed, since Axad12 declined those. Rusalkii (talk) 18:31, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
