Culture: dispute of common dishes

[edit]

Recently an anonymous user keep inserting and pushing the silly lumpia demonstration dispute into the article. It is not a big issue as the quoted reference said so, even I in Jakarta did not realize such demos and dismiss it quickly. In case you did not realize Indonesia is a democracy, and we have civic demonstrations daily, even a silly one like those lumpia demonstration, we do let NGOs with weird agenda to stage the demonstration. In my opinion we should not blow a small silly problem out of proportion or give the stage for such stupidity. It will not help the mutual understanding among both nation. So I stand to keep some facts as the quoted references said:

Disputes over the origins of a variety of dishes found in both countries is also a perpetual issue. from rendang to satay and lumpia, although mostly never escalate into a serious problem. Both parties in Indonesia and Malaysia have agreed that this is a petty issue, stating that anyone who raises such matters is immature, and such issues should not be blown out of proportion.[1] The claims to an extent also overlap with neighbouring Singapore.

Plus, please make a user account, until then it is hard for me to take you — an anonymous user — seriously. Gunkarta  talk  15:56, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia's "Liberal Mass Media"?

[edit]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_freedom_indices rates press freedom in both countries as low, while it may be the case the Indonesia has a more liberal press, this claim should be fleshed out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.250.136.182 (talk) 06:52, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
