[edit]Hi all,
The language of this Wikipedia is English, and our Talk page guideline calls for English to be used on talk pages (see WP:SPEAKENGLISH) in order to maximize the ability of any editor who wishes to, to join the discussion. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 05:26, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, I know. My comments in Spanish were a holdover from when the page was created as a student's talk page in a Spanish class, before it was moved here. I've removed them. Bradhoot (talk) 21:46, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

The request to rename this article to Indigenous languages of South America has been carried out. |
Indigenous language of South America → Indigenous languages of South America – This should be the correct name for the article, as it discusses languages (plural), not one indigenous language of South America. The reason for creating the article under this name is that the proposed new title is currently a redirect to Languages of South America#Indigenous languages, and this new article was created by a student as part of a Wikipedia project, and she obviously doesn't know how to overwrite the redirect – this is really just a technical request to overwrite the redirect, and then a {{main article}} hatnote can be placed in the section of the original redirect. The Linguistic Areas section needs a major rewrite
[edit]The linguistic areas section, specifically the chart accompanying it, need a major rewrite. It seems to just list names of indigenous languages in two columns haphazardly (which I can only chalk up to AI hallucinations). As it currently stands the writing is not only inaccurate, but nonsensical. 2600:1700:1612:1C0:F19C:D9B6:DBE8:DBA9 (talk) 21:50, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
