Indigenous Philippine shrines and other sacred places
[edit]This article focuses on the shrines and other sacred places of the Tagalog people, however, it also contains entries about the sacred places of other ethnic groups. I think that this page can be a good place for editors to expand the concepts of shrines and places of worship for all ethnic groups in the Philippines. This way, the readers can get a glimpse on what indigenous sacred grounds are really like, not just those of the Tagalog people. With this, I propose to rename this article into "Indigenous Philippine shrines and other sacred grounds" on the basis of (1) data expansion for other sacred grounds known to other Filipino ethnic groups aside from the Tagalog, and (2) creation of a more concise article covering the topic. - Successfully changed the name of the article. On the matter of Anito, information from there are actually provided already in not just one, but two articles, namely List of Philippine mythological figures and Indigenous religious beliefs of the Tagalog people. Also, the section is not needed here as (1) they already have their specific pages, and (2) this page should focus instead on sacred shrines and other grounds. With this, I propose to delete the Anito section. None of the information from it will be lost as they are already present in parts of either of the two mentioned articles. Also, some sources used for the entries in this particular article are self-published, which should not be here as per Wikipedia policy. PCommission (talk) 19:46, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
- Additionally, the 'Counterparts' section needs to be removed, as its purpose is no longer viable. The page now elaborates on all indigenous Philippine sacred grounds, not just those of the Tagalog. PCommission (talk) 01:05, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
