Why it wasn't resumed
[edit]Presumably the reason why work never resumed was that by 10-15 years later, railroads were clearly the wave of the future... AnonMoos (talk) 06:18, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- More like 5 years later, if one keeps track of such things. *rimshot*--Bedford (talk) 06:33, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Vonnegut
[edit]By the way, I think the canal was mentioned (under a thinly-veiled pseudonym) in one of Kurt Vonnegut's novels (maybe God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater)... AnonMoos (talk) 03:02, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Error?
[edit]Hello!
I don't know how to edit articles but I think I found an error that could be looked into. It is on the image with the map of Indiana with the planned projects. The colors that I see on my screen do not match the colors that are in the description of the image.
From the Wiki page:
Project funded by Indiana's Mammoth Internal Improvement Act. Yellow=Wabash and Erie,Purple=Madison & Indiapolis RR,Red=Whitewater Canal and Central Canal, Pink=Vincennes Trace, Green=Michigan Road
What colors I see on my actual screen:
The Wabash and Erie is blue, the Madison & Indianapolis (spelled incorrectly in the description on the wiki page)is orange, Whitewater Canal and Central Canal are blue, Vincennes Trace is green, and Michigan Road is green.
Thank you for your time! Sunitrema (talk) 19:47, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- The problem is that the color coding is for the type of improvement (canals, railroads, and roads) instead of individual canals. I changed the file info accordingly and corrected the misspelling. Indyguy (talk) 20:02, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
