Obsolete yet recognised titles?
[edit]British titles and honours became obsolete after the formation of the modern Republic of India in 1950, though they continue to be recognised by the British government.[citation needed]
How does this work out then?
I can acknowledge that the Modern Indian State may have internally abolished something & I think that is something that should be stressed, as in the government corporation/system has set aside something but the people may not have.
What brought the claim of recognition by the British of the old systems of the British Raj?
Also, perhaps an oversight that needs further consideration if someone with knowledge is able?
I note no consideration was given by the original writer for Pakistan, Bangladesh… although You’d think naturally when referring to British India, what would come now you’d mention Pakistan, India, Bangladesh as opposed to just the Modern state Dominion/Republic India.
