Compilation of the Migrant Exodus coverage in the news and media

Hey there, I just put together a compilation of news pieces in an attempt to track the on-going migrants crisis. It is a dynamic list, which I will try my best to keep updating, it can be a great help for editors trying to find reliable sources to cite. Ashlesh007, wow that's some amazing work! Regarding suggestions to help out, I feel we could significantly expand the section on Shramik Special trains, and over time, maybe even create a WP:CFORK article from the same (currently I have created a redirect). Additionally, we could definitely cover the initial days of migrants in more detail... I believe some clarity on their condition had been reached by the first week of April. SerChevalerie This is interesting too, the statistic gives a figure to the crisis.

"Railways transported 31,00,000 migrants back to their homes in the special trains allocated for them between 1 May and 21 May." (taken from Economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in India) You can makes expansions as you want of course in this article. There was another PC today by railways about migrants. SerChevalerie, we have contradictory figures in the media I think, if not then this is the largest figure so far. "As many as 3,700 special trains for transporting migrants have operated between May 1-27 and 91 lakh migrants have already been shifted" The Hindu. This is larger than the 48 lakh migrants mentioned in the article for the same date period. DTM (talk) 11:47, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

DiplomatTesterMan, I believe that the figure is correct, representing the total number of migrants transported by both, trains and buses. Currently I've mentioned them separately, but will mention them together for clarity. SerChevalerie (talk) 13:02, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi SerChevalerie. I was actually just waiting to see how much the scheme would be reported on. Inherently it seems important enough. As of now I would let it be for a few days more; after which redirecting it will be a much easier call. And if you think it should be redirected now, go ahead. We can later change it if needed.
