Merger discussion

[edit]

This article and Indian Idol (Hindi TV series) are written about same topic, that is a singing reality TV show of Sony TV, I suggest to merge this article into latter. Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 07:06, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me more about this? . Kautilyapundit (talk) 14:59, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This article is about the TV franchise (which includes Indian Idol Marathi and Telugu Indian Idol), not the reality show. Deauthorized. (talk) 17:58, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 26 September 2023

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: no consensus. Not much discussion after two relists and I can't see any sign of consensus being reached in the near future. (closed by non-admin page mover) Zippybonzo | talk | contribs (he|she|they) 21:46, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

– Current title seems to meet the WP:QUALIFIER to be disambiguated, I nearly confused this article as a duplicate of Indian Idol (Hindi TV series) until I took a closer look. The second article also seems to be the primary topic based off of Google search results ranking and the pageviews of said article (34,698 as compared to 12,811 for this article). I'm open to any other suggestions. Deauthorized. Is there any SIGCOV of the whole franchise as a whole? Disambiguation could probably be handled as a hatnote to the Marathi and Telugu versions. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 02:03, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Deauthorized, Crouch, Swale, and Sammi Brie: any further thoughts on how this should be handled? Would anyone oppose me closing this as moved and then immediately BLARing the franchise article (until sources can be found to improve the article)? Of course discussions like that aren't usually in the scope of RM but it would probably make more sense to get a clearer idea here since it doesn't appear there are other editors interested in this. Elli (talk | contribs) 06:06, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would still get the history moved before BLARing. Crouch, Swale (talk) 10:03, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that is what I am proposing we do. Elli (talk | contribs) 17:42, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Crouch, Swale and @Elli, what is happening? Best, Reading Beans (talk) 18:11, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly moving the franchise and then merging? Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:14, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - not clear why the Hindi-language version should be seen as the primary topic for this... having the franchise as the broad-concept / overarching page above the individual language versions seems sensible.  — Amakuru (talk) 18:47, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
