replace Despite this, the IU is still registered with the Electoral Commission with Tennant listed as its current leader.[9] With Despite this, the IU was still registered with the Electoral Commission with Tennant listed as its current leader.[9]. This is past tense as the leader of IU is no longer John Tennant [1]
Replace Leader John Tennant with Leader Shane Moore. This is the most up to date record of the Party registered with the Electoral Commission. [2]
Replace Split from Putting Hartlepool First with removal as there is no evidence to corroborate this.
Replace Colours Navy with Colours Navy and Orange. Election literature and social media have always contained these colours.
Replace Local Government 0/20210 with Local Government 6/20210. Six former Brexit Party defections returned to IU in January 2020 [3] Replace Hartlepool Borough Council 0/33 with Hartlepool Borough Council 6/33. All six are reported on the Council's own webpage [4] Teal1 (talk) 15:40, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Independent Union (political party) → Independent Union – @Uamaol: I'm honestly of the opinion that the disambiguation is unnecessary due to WP:DIFFCAPS. When you made this article, you had it at Independent Union until you moved it (22 May 2019). Almost a year later, on on 16 May 2020, I moved back to Independent Union. I see two months ago, you restored it as you had the article before I moved it.
As a result, it would seem we are on track for an extremely slow moving edit war or something about this. Instead of just moving it back to my preferred title, I figured it would better to discuss this. Therefore, I am opening up this move request for comment. –MJL ‐Talk‐☖ 02:19, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- Support. Seems like a straightforward application of WP:DIFFCAPS. Colin M (talk) 00:22, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
- Disagree When I created this article I was not aware that the other one existed and it had not even occurred to me to even check until a little while later. My motivation to make the change was in fact due to a wikilink that I created going to the other page, which was unintentional. Whilst it may be obvious to make the names of political parties capitalised, not all are treated this way (Éirígí has actually always been styled as éirígí by themselves). Users linking to the type of union may instead be mistaken by the blue link that the link will instead be going to the political party, and vice versa. To eliminate such an issue, especially as the term "independent union" is so incredibly vague, I changed the name. I try to limit my contributions to Wiki as I will end up wasting hours, if not days, but when I do I go back to check on articles I last edited and review my past edits for grammar/spelling mistakes as well as check for vandalism (there are are few real annoying ones...), therefore time here is meaningless. I am of the opinion that the titles should remain the same because they make the articles appear more recognizable, concise, natural, precise, and consistent. UaMaol (talk) 01:52, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
- Support. Hatnotes are fine here. Independent union (trade unionism) should also be moved back to Independent union. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:23, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose A dab page may be best here, as we also have the political party known as Independent Unionist Association. 162 etc. (talk) 14:53, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose. "Independent Union" is much too vague. Party itself far too obscure to deem it the primary topic for such a general phrase. The term itself is frequently associated with trade unionism. Diffcaps not really sufficient. Walrasiad (talk) 23:07, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
