Release and chart activity
[edit]This site has a transcription of an info-card sent by WEA with the song's promo video. It states Independent Love Song to be released on the 2nd January 1995. Ads can be seen for it in the music press that week.
Officialcharts.com has been misinterpreted. The date it gives next to a release is when it first entered the chart, not when it reached its peak position. ILS was a new entry at #26 on the week ending 21st January as shown in that week's issue of Music Week.
ILS peaked at #12 in its fifth week on the charts, week ending 18th February. Again, shown by Music Week. -- Analog Kid (talk) 14:15, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- See Discogs here; by clicking on the 1994 releases, view the scanned images for that release and you can clearly see '©1994' printed on the CD covers, as well as on the vinyl for the 7" release. What do you make of this? —Hiddenstranger (talk) 16:47, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- It says to me that the physical media was produced/printed in 1994, which for a release in the first week of 1995 would be. The website that has transcribed the information has absolutely no reason to randomly change the release details. What on Earth would they gain by it? Analog Kid (talk) 09:03, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
