Clarification needed - 1852 party's 1st general election?

I note that the 1852 general election and formation of the IIP were in July of 1852. Was the party formed in time for its candidates to contest the election or was it formed shortly afterwards from MPs returned at that election?Cloptonson (talk) 10:52, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
