Here is my second review of one of your recent GANs! --K. Peake 07:04, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • NRG Studios → NRG Recording in the infobox, piping to NRG Recording Studios
  • North Hollywood, California → North Hollywood, Los Angeles with the wikilink
  • Remove the ref for the genre here because that is not needed when it is backed up in the body
  • "Marcella Araica and" → "Marcella Araica, and"
  • Add a sentence directly after writing/production mentioning it being inspired by Cole's experiences as a woman
  • "It was released for" → "The song was released for"
  • ""Incapable" is an R&B ballad backed" → "An R&B ballad, it is backed" but only mention the acoustic guitar since the other backing isn't notable for the lead, however use a connective to also reference the sample here which should be noted
  • Remove pipe on signature ballads, plus should this part be reworded when not many reviewers said it?
  • "cheating behind her back." → "cheating on her."
  • Rather than having the positive reviews part in the same sentence as the rest of the video information, add a separate one mentioning this and what critics focused on
  • Mention her performance on The Wendy Williams Show instead of the Kimmel one because that is more notable

Background and release

[edit]
  • "Marcella Araica and Elijah Blake and produced by" → "Marcella Araica, and Elijah Blake, while produced by"
  • "Maddoxx Chhim and Araica." → "Maddoxx Chhim, and Araica."
  • NRG Studios → NRG Recording Studios with the wikilink
  • North Hollywood, California → North Hollywood, Los Angeles with the wikilink
  • Mention when the preview was specifically and merely write premiere, as season should not be used twice in one sentence
  • "on August 25, 2017 as" → "on August 25, 2017, as"
  • Identify the radio stations as urban contemporary and pipe to Urban contemporary music
  • Why have you written September 27 when the date is displayed as September 30?
  • Vibe should be italicised

Composition

[edit]
  • Retitle to Composition and lyrics
  • Pipe ballad to Sentimental ballad and music critics to Music journalism on the audio sample text
  • Remove pipe on emotional on the text
  • ""Incapable" is a" → "Musically, "Incapable" is a"
  • Mid-tempo should not be in this sentence when it is not sourced here and the other sentence is about tempo
  • Pipe ballad to Sentimental ballad
  • The length is sourced as 3:24, not 3:25
  • "was composed in" → "is composed in"
  • Pipe key to Key (music)
  • Wikilink tempo and remove pipe on beats per minute
  • Remove pipe on emotional
  • Shouldn't the 808s be mentioned too per Billboard?
  • "Its composition samples" → "It includes a sample of"
  • The ThisisRnB and SoulTracks quotes should come after the rest of the musical info because these are focused on comppsition
  • Start a new sentence at the lyrics part
  • "revolved around an" → "revolve around an"
  • Singersroom should not be italicised
  • "felt that the lyrics were referencing" → "felt that the lyrics reference"
  • iHeartRadio should not be italicised
  • "referenced her split" → "focus on her split"
  • "wrote that it contained elements of" → "noted the elements of"
  • Pipe undertone to Undertone series
  • "the truth, yeah"." → "the truth, yeah."" per MOS:QUOTE on full sentences
  • "in the chorus, singing. "Oh," → "in the chorus, singing, "Oh," with the pipe
  • "loving like that"." → "loving like that.""

Critical reception

[edit]
  • "received generally positive reviews" → "was met with generally positive reviews"
  • "reflected Cole's "uncanny" ability" → "reflects Cole's "uncanny" ability"
  • Pipe trap to Trap music
  • "to Jesus verse"." → "to Jesus" one." to be less repetitive
  • TheGrio should not be italicised
  • Are you sure Ice Cream Conversations is a reliable source; I see no proof of an editorial process or any recognition?
  • "declaring that she shows them off while singing" → "declaring that they are shown off on"
  • "as apart of Cole's" → "as a part of Cole's"
  • Remove pipe on Vibe and use italicisation
  • "described the song as" → "described it as"
  • What makes MEFeater a reliable source?

Music video

[edit]

Background and synopsis

[edit]
  • Remove pipe on top and wikilink on hat on the img text
  • "in which this scene is throughout" → "a scene present throughout" or something similar on the text
  • "An accompanying music video for" → "A music video for"
  • Pipe Mike Ho to Mike He
  • Remove the single release part since that is not worthy of a mention unless a source states it
  • "one month prior." → "one month prior to the release."
  • Remove wikilink on love interest
  • "to the bathroom where" → "to the bathroom, where"
  • Remove pipe on top
  • Remove wikilink on hat
  • "of the song, in which this scene is throughout" → "of the song; this scene appears throughout" or something similar
  • "join the stage and start dancing" → "join the stage to start dancing and singing" per the source
  • Remove wikilink on waitress
  • Only the spillage on the lap is sourced in the delivery of drinks sentence
  • Only the manner in which she walks away (not the smirk) and the humiliation are sourced for the last sentence

Reception

[edit]
  • Remove pipe on critics
  • "Keithan Samuels of Rated R&B" → "Samuels of Rated R&B"
  • "overshadowed the plot," → "overshadows the plot,"
  • Remove pipe on Vibe
  • VH1 should not be italicised
  • "that the video ended" → "that it ends"
  • Remove wikilink and italicisation for Singersroom
  • "Bianca Garwood of Ebony felt" → "Garwood of Ebony felt"

Live performances

[edit]
  • "Cole performed a snippet of "Incapable" live" → "Cole previewed "Incapable" live"

"Elle Breezy of Singersroom praised" → "Breezy of Singersroom praised"

  • "on The Wendy Williams Show on October 20," → "for The Wendy Williams Show on October 20, 2017,"
  • Pipe fur coat to Fur clothing
  • Remove wikilink on Rated R&B
  • "the outfit that Cole was wearing during the performance to" → "the outfit worn by Cole to"
  • Pipe fictional character to Character (arts)
  • Pipe concert special to Television special
  • "On October 22, Cole" → "On October 22, 2017, Cole"
  • Mention the dancers in the first performance per the source
  • Mention that the Soul Train Music Awards performance replicated the music video
  • "Ken Hamm of Soul Bounce complimented" → "Hamm complimented"
  • "and declared that it "stood out" → "that "stood out"
  • Remove pipe on Billboard

Track listing

[edit]
  • I don't think this section is needed for a one track release, especially when the length is written out in prose anyway

Credits and personnel

[edit]

Charts

[edit]
  • See MOS:TABLECAPTION
  • Either change the year to 2017 or 2018, depending on which the song peaked in
  • No chart history is displayed by the URL

Release history

[edit]
  • See MOS:TABLECAPTION
  • Format → Format(s)

References

[edit]
  • Copyvio score looks pretty decent at 34.6%!
  • Cite SoulTracks as work/website instead on ref 1
  • Solely cite Amazon on ref 4, moving this to the publisher parameter instead and piping to Amazon (company)
  • Ref 6 needs to properly cite a title and publisher
  • Cite Singersroom as publisher instead on refs 9, 34 and 36, fixing MOS:QWQ issues with 34
  • Cite SongData.io as publisher instead on ref 10
  • Fix MOS:QWQ issues with refs 11, 33 and 37
  • Cite Rated R&B as work/website instead on refs 12 and 39
  • Cite iHeartRadio as publisher instead on ref 14
  • Cite Soul Bounce as work/website instead on ref 16
  • Remove the publisher from ref 17 and fix MOS:QWQ issues
  • Remove the publisher from ref 18
  • Remove Allen Media Group from ref 19 and cite TheGrio solely as publisher
  • Again, what makes ref 21 a reliable source?
  • Same as above for ref 24 and if kept, fix MOS:QWQ issues
  • Fix MOS:QWQ issues with ref 27, also I'm not sure if Yell Productions should be cited when that is the name of a company
  • Remove Viacom International Inc from ref 31 and cite VH1 solely as publisher, also fix MOS:QWQ issues
  • Cite ThisisRnB as work/website instead on ref 38
  • Fix MOS:QWQ and MOS:CAPS issues with ref 40, while citing Bloomberg L.P. as publisher instead
  • WP:OVERLINK of The Boombox on ref 42 and fix MOS:QWQ issues
  • Ref 45 should be fixed by citing Keyshia Cole instead of merely her forename, if that works

Final comments and verdict

[edit]

@Kyle Peake:, I apologize for my tardiness and I know that I should have not had taken that long to edit the article per the suggestions you made following the review. I am now finished with doing so and I hope that everything turns out fine.Fullmoon211 (talk) 11:03, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

K. Peake, if you wish to reopen the review, you certainly can, but if you don't, that's also fine. Fullmoon211 did reopen it, but I have turned it into a renomination since that's the normal process. If you do wish to, let me know, so I can fix the article talk page accordingly. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:21, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fullmoon211 I am glad there has been a response at last, but you missed writing NRG Recording in the infobox for the studio, adding a sentence about the inspiration to the lead, pipe trap to Trap music, edit the music video img text, pipe fur coat to Fur clothing, mention the dancers in live performances, adding table captions, cite Singersroom as publisher on all refs, fix MOS:QWQ issues with some of them and remove The Source ref publisher. BlueMoonset Yes, I would prefer it to be reopened because there's only these issues left. --K. Peake 07:20, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have now followed your suggestions and edited the article again, though...
1. I already edited the music video image text
2. The Wendy performance was the only one that had sources mentioning the backup dancers
3. I already removed The Source publisher
Other than that, I am sure that everything is fine now. Fullmoon211 (talk) 11:00, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fullmoon211 You did not change the "in which this scene" part on the img text, nor remove the Northstar Group publisher. --K. Peake 20:52, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. Fullmoon211 (talk) 21:04, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
