Music Video

[edit]

I have edited this page and included some information about the music video. Many other artists' single pages have sections regarding their music videos and I felt this music video was notable enough to grant it its own section. It's only a basic edit though, could do with some expansion and rewording. FruiChew (talk) 03:06, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistency in the article

[edit]

This article states that this single is a release from her 6th studio album whilst Beautiful Night states that it is a release from her 5th studio album. the article also labels In Your Shoes as the third single release from 100% whilst Beautiful Night is labelled as the lead single from 100%. So what happened to the second single release? Every Step is in the chronology as the first single and the article says as much. As I understand it, Every Step was never released as a single but given away as a free promo for the album which nullifies it's position as a 'single'. If it was released as a single then Beautiful Night can not be labelled as the lead single.

Every Step should be labelled as a free promotional give away for Beautiful Night to retain it's title as Lead Single and this article needs to be changed to Second Single release. Otherwise we have a situation where Every Step can be mistaken for the first single or the promotional single, Beautiful Night can be mistaken as the second single or the lead single and In Your Shoes can be mistaken as the third single as the article states or the second single in comparison to the previous single which is labelled as lead single. Singles

[edit]

According to the album advert for "100%", "Every Step" is considered a single from "100%" [1].

"Every Step" was given away as a free download initially but only for a two week period, much like "Violet Hill" by Coldplay and Empire of the Sun's "Walking On A Dream".

The album advert, promotion of the song on the album sticker and radio playlisting by BBC Radio 2 amongst others showcase the fact it was a single. Knight also performed the song on GMTV as promotion for the "100%" album and for the song's availability. Knight's web site also stated that it was a AA side with "Beautiful Night" (please see the "Every Step" article for the source). Promo CD's were also sent out for radio airplay, as they were for "Beautiful Night" and "In Your Shoes".

Really...it should be:

  • Promotional single - "Every Step", later released alongside "Beautiful Night" (as stated by the official Beverley Knight website - source in article)
  • Single 1 - "Beautiul Night"
  • Single 2 - "In Your Shoes"

I have now edited each article to state this.

As for the album number in the "Beautiful Night" article, it is simply a mistake, I've changed it to sixth studio album now.

Many thanks for helping to organise all of the articles!
