GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

I'm pleased to conduct this GA review, for an exceptional and interesting article. It's very well prepared for GAN, so nice job.

  1. Is it well written?
    A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
    B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation:
  2. Is it verifiable with no original research?
    A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
Most of the references in this article are offline and inaccessible to readers, but it makes sense that it would be, since the topic is about a book published before the internet. I'm fine with AGF that you've used the sources well, without any plagiarism or close paraphrasing problems.
    B. All in-line citations are from reliable sources, including those for direct quotations, statistics, published opinion, counter-intuitive or controversial statements that are challenged or likely to be challenged, and contentious material relating to living persons—science-based articles should follow the scientific citation guidelines:
    C. It contains no original research:
    D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:
    B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):
  4. Is it neutral?
It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:
  5. Is it stable?
It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:
Very stable, even before nominator began expanding and improving it.
  6. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content:
Images look good. I'm not sure about "John Lennon - In His Own Write - first drawing.jpg"; it's not free and may not be acceptable. I'll let it go for this GAN, but if you take this article to FAC, they may ping you for it. Are there free images of Lennon, the other Beatles (especially McCartney), and the other people you mention (like Yoko Ono or Cynthia Lennon) that you could use?
John's drawing is still under copyright, presumably with his estate (i.e. Yoko Ono). I wanted to make sure there was at least one drawing on the page, given their importance to the book, so included it by tagging it as fair use. In my experience, image reviews at FAC have been like peeling off fingernails, so we'll see how it goes... As for PD images, there are lots of John and Paul, especially for 1964, including a great one of them standing together. There are also plenty of photos of John and Yoko together, mostly from 1969. B. Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
Nice job, happy to pass article to GA. As I intimated above, I think you should take it to FAC. Let me know how I can assist when you do. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 17:21, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well, this is the most efficient GAN I've ever gone through. Thanks Christine! Tkbrett (✉) 17:54, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
