Misleading title
[edit]It should be mentioned at least once here that the word 'highest' was added by translators; in fact Lenin had said it was the 'latest' stage of capitalism. Read The Age of Empire: 1875–1914 for verification. 81.134.19.249 (talk) 11:23, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
Never-never land
[edit]This statement in the article is totally false wishful thinking:
- "most nations under colonial control of European powers did not see socialist uprisings but rather made relatively peaceful transitions to democratic governments and free-market economies".
What about the uprisings in Vietnam, Cuba, Algeria and the rest of colonial Africa, which did not lead to either to democracy or free-market economies? What about the freemarket China which is not a democracy? Can editors here name just one just former colonial country which had a peaceful transition to democracy and a free-market economy? Wishful thinking fringe theories which do not relate to reality have no place in the wikipedia. Colin4C (talk) 10:37, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
