List of Grand Stewards
[edit]In 1949 the title of imperial household minister was changed to Grand Steward of the Imperial Household Agency. The Imperial Household Minister (Kunaidaijin) was a senior official in the pre-war Imperial Court -- administratively separate from the government.
This partial list is a plausible first step ...? --Tenmei (talk) 20:18, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Accuracy
[edit]The suggestion that the agency controls "every aspect of the lives of the members of the Imperial Family, both public and private, and exerting near-total control over them" is tabloid journalism at its worst. Responsbility for appointments, wardrobe, etc is normal for a palace establishment. The same is seen in Buckingham Palace or the White House. Positions in the Agency are not hereditary. What exactly is meant by "Nine out of ten requests from the imperial family, even the Emperor himself, are rejected"?. The claim that Princess Masako, "was denied browsing a bookstore, visiting her family, or calling her old college friends around the world or even going out for a cup of coffee." also sounds like unverified journalistic rumour. This entire section should be deleted, unless it can be re-written in a more encyclopaedic form.203.184.41.226 (talk) 05:53, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Grand Steward is not the head of IHA.
[edit]The head of IHA is Director-General appointed by Cabinet. Please check that I am not wrong.--Polyesterchips (talk) 14:40, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
