I nearly deleted the first citation and inserted a cite needed tag. I would strongly suggest finding a different source to replace source number 1, 7th Battalion The Cameronians Multiple Sclerosis Research Initiative. That "source" has no citations on its page at all. It is fantastically Anti-japanese, particularly the Hong Kong section, and is hosted by a UK-based page. I quote from that section of the site "the peace and tranquillity of this island paradise was shattered when the troops of General Tanaka defeated the gallant soldiers of Britain..." The text is very POV. It is also ripped off from an even more biased site that it lists at the very bottom. That site, as well, has no citations. It is uncertain how much of it is true. The Imperial Guard of Japan is the large catagory, the Imperial Guards Divison is only one of three such Divisions, and Brigades. This article should remain as is. Asiaticus 07:09, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
If Asiaticus is right, Than one of these articles is wrong--because they both say the same thing Puddytang 03:53, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Pre-Meiji Imperial Guard?
[edit]It is mentioned in Nakayama Tadayasu's article that "in 1821, at the age of eleven, Nakayama was named as Provisional Major-General of the Imperial Guard of the Left". Does this mean there was an Imperial Guard before the Meiji Restoration, or an equivalent organisation? This could be worth looking further into. KnightofFaerië (talk) 15:20, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
