Also gas phase?
[edit]If the corresponding reaction in the gas phase (e.g. gas discharge) is also called "impact ionization", it should be mentioned in the article.
Would a chemist include "impact ionization" in a list of chemical reactions?

Illegible text in this image
[edit]The text in this image is really messed up. It seems to me like it's at least legible when rendered by Firefox's SVG viewer (going to http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bb/Impact_ionization_schematic.svg directly), but the MediaWiki renderer makes the letters tiny and spaced out, so the text goes way outside the frame. —Keenan Pepper 16:05, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
