ICCS History
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
1964– 1974
June 1964 – Realization of Rev. Fr. Francis Kutscher’s dream school through the recommendation of Msgr. Hernando Antiporda, Auxiliary Bishop of Manila.
August 1964 – Kindergarten was opened with 83 pupils. Fr. Francis Kutscher, SVD became the first school director with Miss Martina Reyes as the first principal and teacher.
February 8, 1965 – ICPS applied for government recognition of Kindergarten and Grade one at the Department of Education.
June 1965– Government recognition was granted to ICPS for the Pre-elementary Course and Grade One of the Elementary Course (Day).
A significant increase in enrolment from 83 pupils to 120 Kindergarten and 90 grade one pupils.
February 1966– Purchased property of 1000 sq meter lot to become the main school campus of ICPS. Construction took place of the first two floors of the main building.
June 1966– Sr. Salutation Dolotina, S.Sp.S. became the first. religious sister school principal of ICPS.
Additional third floor was constructed in the school building.
June 1967– Sr. Emilia Viado, S.Sp. S. was appointed as principal.
July 3, 1967– Government recognition was granted for Grade Two of the Elementary Course.
Summer 1968– The fourth floor of the school building was added.
July 1, 1968– Government recognition was granted for Grade Three level.
Summer 1969– Additional building was constructed with three classrooms for Kindergarten.
July 7, 1969– Government recognition was granted for Grade Four.
Summer 1970– An annex four storey building connecting to the main building was constructed.
July 6, 1970– Government recognition was granted for Grade Five level.
June 1971– Sr. Esperanza Cabanos, S.Sp.S. was appointed as school principal. ICPS this time offered complete elementary course.
July 13, 1972– Government recognition was granted for Grade Six and grade seven levels. ICPS has completed its government recognition as a school offering complete elementary education.
March 1972– Graduation of first batch of Grade Seven pupils.
May 1972– Rev. Fr. Alfredo Reyes, SVD became the school director.
1974-1984
March 1974– Graduation of the last batch of Grade Seven pupils.
Summer 1974– The four storey building connecting to the main building was completed.
June 1974– Grade Seven was closed and the Junior Kindergarten was opened. .Sr. Amparo Valerio, S.Sp.S was appointed as school principal.
March 1975– Graduation of the first batch of Grade Six pupils.
June 1975– Rev. Fr. George Hardwart, SVD became the school director.
May 1978– Rev. Fr. Liberato Fernandez, SVD became the school director.
June 1978– Sr. Elenita Frez, S.Sp.S. was appointed as school principal.
June 1980– Sr. Ann Viannette, S.Sp.S. was appointed as school principal.
June 1981– The High School department was established through the efforts of Fr. Francis Kutscher, Fr. Tito Fernandez and benefactors from Germany.
Sr. Laurentine Baraquero, S.Sp.S. was appointed principal for both grade school and high school departments.
The high school started with two levels, first year and second year.
June 1982- The construction of the four storey high school building was completed.
June 1983– Sr. Elenita Frez, S.Sp.S. was appointed as principal in the high school department while Sr. Carmencita Gatmaitan, S.Sp.S. was likewise appointed as grade school principal.
March 1983– Graduation of the first batch of high school students. Msgr. Leonardo Legaspi was the guest speaker and main celebrant in the baccalaureate mass.
1984–1994
June 1984– Mrs. Rosalina Y. Javier was appointed as high school principal.
January 1985– The high school was granted government recognition as a school offering complete secondary course.
May 1990– The ICPS was turned over to the Diocesan priests under the jurisdiction of the late Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin, Archbishop of Manila.

June 1990– Msgr. Reynaldo Y. Celso became the school, director and was assisted by Rev. Fr. Jose Clemente F. Ignacio, the assistant director.
Marian dimension and involvement in the parish were made explicit in the school’s vision, mission and goals.
Organizational re-structuring took place to improve the delivery system specifically in the area of academics due to increasing enrollment.
June 1991– Miss Bienvenida S. Roxas was appointed high school principal.
June 1992- Sr. Lydia B. Dionisio, FDNSC was appointed as Assistant Directress and Personnel Officer of ICPS. Mrs. Rosie Pineda was appointed as grade school acting principal.
School manuals were reviewed and revised such as students’ manual and faculty manual.
1994-2004
April 1995– Mrs. Remedios B. Ayunon was appointed as grade school principal.
June 1995– The Nursery level was opened.
July 1995– The Construction of the Audio-Visual building located in the high school department was completed.
Properties were purchased for future school projects and expansion like: St. Michael St. lot, Maryland St., lot and Boston St. lot.
May 27, 1999– Laying of the Cornerstone of the propose seven storey building, St. Michael property.
July 2000– Msgr. Daniel B. Sta. Maria became the school director. Mr. Ferdinand Garcia was appointed as high school principal.
June 2003– Under the leadership of Msgr. Daniel Sta. Maria, the Special
Education was opened for children with special needs.
The ICCS Vision and Mission statements were reformulated.
August 2003– His Excellency Most Rev. Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, D.D. was installed as Bishop of Cubao. The Immaculate Conception Parish School (former name) became Immaculate Conception Cathedral School.
2004– Present
June 28, 2005– The Sped was granted government recognition which offers mainstream / inclusive education for children with special needs.
March 2006– Blessing of the two storey building adjacent the GS main building. It is where the GS library, faculty room, some classrooms and canteen are located.
May 2006– Msgr. Alfonso A. Bugaoan Jr. became the school director. Institutionalization of offices and development of manual of school systems and procedures began.
June 2007– Rev. Fr. Raymond Joseph L. Arre became the school assistant director.
May 2009– Rev. Fr. Raymond Joseph Arre became the school director.
June 2009– The STAR Program was launched. S-means spiritual formation, T-means transformation, A-means accreditation, R-means result-oriented.
November 2009– The ICCS Philosophy, Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives were revisited.
June 2010 – ICCS Moving Forward From Good to Great
June 2011 – Mr. Ferdinand G. Garcia – Basic Education Principal
