no Slovakia back then !

[edit]

October 1918 Czechoslovakia declared it's independence from Austro-Hungarian Empire. Only 1993 the region got divided into Slovakia and Czechia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.108.129.198 (talk) 02:31, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How did he

[edit]

He was born into a Jewish family in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, his name is obviously German, and he helped to build the state Israel. But the article just states him as "Hungarian-born".

Is anyone else confused by this?

If so I'm probably not the only one wondering what he himself might have thought about his nationality. - Is there any information about that? And is this relevant enough to put it in his article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:8109:8140:3EF0:B89A:86E0:4A62:CF56 (talk) 19:36, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Hungarian-born" means that he was born in Transleithania, and nothing more. In Western Europe "nationality" is synonymous with "citizenship" or "subjecthood", not with "ethnicity". 89.64.70.7 (talk) 22:27, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How is there a photo of Lichtenfeld from 2007?

[edit]

The description of the photo on this article states that it's from 2007, but he died in 1998. 24.6.54.4 (talk) 19:15, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
