Wide carriage ImageWriter II?
[edit]I have been unable to find any other references to a wide carriage ImageWriter II. Perhaps there has been some confusion with the original ImageWriter, which was offered in a wide edition?
- I just started a clean up this article and that mention of wide carriage ImageWriter II piqued my curiosity. I'm very familiar with Apple's early product lines, but never saw, let alone even heard of, a wide carriage edition. There definitely was a regular and wide carriage version of the beige ImageWriter I (I've seen it, even recently) but searching Apple's tech notes, Usenet discussion archives and my collection of vintage spec sheets and ad pamphlets from Apple, I can find no record of it.
- Ah, I forgot I have a copy of Addison Wesley's ImageWriter II Technical Reference Manual (printed circa 1987) which is official documentation from Apple, sitting on the bookshelf behind me! Just pulled it and and skimmed through it moments ago; once again, no mention of a wide carriage edition. So unless someone has proof such a model existed within the ImageWriter II line, I'm removing it as part of the clean up.--Apple2gs (talk) 01:51, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
Discontinuation date
[edit]Does someone know the precise date the ImageWriter II was discontinued and officially removed from Apple's price list? The closest information I can find is sometime in late 1996. Anyone know the exact month? Considering it was the longest running product in Apple's history, that information is important to the article. --Apple2gs (talk) 22:16, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
As a result of several deletion discussions
[edit]This page and the LQ page have been fully merged into ImageWriter. This seems to make the most sense. The main product lines represent the most logical way to organize this data, IMHO. BusterD (talk) 15:29, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
