Rewrite Split, Rework
[edit]I would like to begin discussion on this article and splitting it into three articles. Specifically, the Illinois Board of Higher Education, Illinois Community College System and Illinois Community College Board, and a List of Community Colleges under the ICCB. Please discuss. I will wait 7 days before making edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by IlliniGradResearch (talk • contribs)
- As the original author of this article, I have no objection to anything that might improve it, but I am confused as to what you are proposing. About 99% of this article is the second one on your list (Illinois Community College System and Illinois Community College Board). The Illinois Board of Higher Education (first on your list) is simply mentioned here in the context of the Illinois Community College System and was not intended by me to ever be a full treatment of that agency (nor to preclude a separate article on the IBHE). As for the third article on your list (List of Community Colleges under the ICCB), there already is a separate List of community colleges in Illinois as part of an overall list, and cited in the main article. It seems inappropriate to create a separate list just for Illinois community when the established approach seems to be a single list, although I do notice that someone has set Oregon off on its own. -- DS1953 talk 22:46, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking the time to answer my request. I have posted the same request before and no one has ever replied. You make a good point, as the list may not be necessary. I wanted to find the best way to clarify which colleges were public and fell under the ICCS and ICCB, and private ones that while 2 year, are not public. As to the ICCS, you are correct as they are covered in full, and the IBHE is detailed only as a reference point. I think what I may do is do a preliminary treatment in my sandbox on the IBHE and would appreciate your thoughts and comments. Also, I am trying to put together an Community College Taskforce, specifically to deal with Illinois Community Colleges (outside Chicago System). I am working on Rend Lake College now if you would like to review my work, and see the level of attention and detail I am going for. I am trying to get the articles I do evaluated for Good Status and to expand on the generally preliminary work of the current articles. Its a large task, but I enjoy the challenge. Any help or support for my cause you could give See task force request would be greatly appreciated as you have quite a bit more experience than I do. Your thoughts?IlliniGradResearch (talk) 00:22, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
