Shoplifting

[edit]

An IP from the capital of Ukraine removed that Belanov was convicted of shoplifting (as well as the fact that he was a Soviet footballer, which we can interpret as we like).

The sources, and they are many, agree that Belanov and his wife were arrested for stealing clothes. He said he didn't do it. A court in a free country said he did. He was fined. This was an embarrassing addition to his poor form for Gladbach.

The IP seemed to suggest that people are not convicted if they plead not guilty. This has no legal basis anywhere. High security prisons and even death row is full of people who said they didn't do it.

Whatever heroic acts Belanov has done in the military, and however much his country is suffering, does not change the fact this event happened. Unknown Temptation (talk) 15:14, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
