Can we describe him as an Australian?
[edit]As an Aussie, I'd normally be arguing in the reverse direction, but in this case I'm really not sure the appellation "Australian" applies (we have him in Category:Australian people of Austrian descent and Category:Australians of Polish descent). True, he did decide to remain here after the war ended. That makes him an Australian resident, but not necessarily an Australian as such. I'm not aware he was ever naturalised a British subject (which is what Australians had to content themselves with until Australian citizenship came into existence in 1949). I've never seen him described as an "Australian" anywhere else. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 21:49, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I've done the right thing and removed the Australian categories, as I've seen no evidence he was considered an Australian except by temporary and (initially at least) enforced residence. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 02:39, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

The style, especially the career section seems to be written from a particular point of view.

I agree. In 2019, an anonymous user from Rochester, NY inexplicably decided to strip this page of a Rachmaninoff quote and word-vomit some very non-objective opinions onto this page. It will take a bit of time to restore the old version. sashampsokolov 14 July 2021
