Ich Hatte Einen Kameraden, this is actually wrong. It should be rather written Ich hatte einen Kameraden--Tresckow 03:41, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

True. I've just moved the page. <KF> 20:55, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the song is called "Der gute Kamerad" as the article says, if you insist on using its first verse as the lemma why not spell it correctly? "Ich hatt' einen Kameraden" without the e. --Snottily 00:09, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

english version

[edit]

it is really poor, whoever translated it did a poor job, a lot of it doesnt follow the german at all. the last line should read "my good friend", not what they have there.23.24.194.42 (talk) 18:35, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The English translation is pitiful, may I change it? -Hyperboreer 23:32, 1 July 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hyperboreer (talkcontribs)

I have a better one:

I once had a comrade, You won't find a better one. The drum called for the battle, He walked on my side, In the same pace and step.

A bullet came by flying, Is it my turn or it's yours? He was swept away, He lies to my feet, Like it were a part of me.

Still reaches out his hand for me, While I am about to reload. Can't give you the hand, Stay you in eternal life My good comrade.

I changed it. The English translation was indeed terrible. I couldn't reconcile that with my conscience. De Mof (talk) 21:10, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My edit of 22 Oct 2014

[edit]

I deleted a Croation translation as there was no apparent reason for it being there. Also, in the raw text there is also a French translation that is located just above the Reference section, but it has the hidden note text markup code so that it won't display on the main page. I left it there but I don't understand why the editor who put there left it that way. C'est la vie. __209.179.8.187 (talk) 17:23, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
